He Wants You
In the past five days, it seems we have lived at 35,000 feet.
Nine flights, four layovers in Atlanta-Hartsfield…
California.
South Carolina.
Kansas.
South Carolina.
Texas.
BUT also a very significant FIRST.
Priyanka and I made our first trip without Haven. With such an intense five days, we thought it was a perfect time to give our little girl two days off with Grammy and GrandPaul (a decision for which she was NOT disappointed).
And wow. Flying never felt so easy.
…and so void.
One might think…
Not packing an extra bag…
Not changing diapers in an airplane lavatory…
Getting to sleep on flights…and STUDY.
WAIT!!!
The reality is I love my girl…and in that love, I want her by my side. I want to shower my love on this kid even if it means I don’t get to sleep, we carry extra things, and diaper changes are a part of my travel experience.
(I speak to those who have accepted their relationship with Jesus Christ through His finished work on the cross.)
Jesus said, “Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world” (John 17:24).
Shared experience.
For years I have asked, “Why would God love me?” I’m not NEEDED in accomplishing God’s Divine mission. I’m not bring great assets to the table. I don’t make things easier with my sinning heart. I don’t…
OK. You get the point!
But that is the point. He loves us. He wants us. He, “…will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing” (Zephaniah 3:17).
“…that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3). This is His desire for His children.
Don’t try to reason out God’s love. It’s not because of your actions. It’s because of who He is. He is a Father who has “set his love upon you” (Psalm 91:14).
You are loved.
